In Loving Memory of My Friend Jan
I’m heartbroken tonight as I learned that my dear friend Jan has passed away.
Jan and I shared a love for fashion and fitness that always brought us together. When I worked in downtown Denver, I would walk the 16th Street Mall after work so we could meet at the Denver Athletic Club. We’d work out, laugh, and then treat ourselves to a beautiful dinner in the club’s restaurant — always in style, of course.
We lived fashion, but truly, no one could hold a light to Jan. Her taste was impeccable, her creativity unmatched. I can still see her—elegant, radiant, effortlessly put together.
I’ll never forget our quiet moments too — visiting her at her mom’s condo, drinking coffee, and talking about life. Then came Daniel, and what a beautiful union that was. She glowed with love and joy.
Even after I left Denver, we stayed connected — birthday messages, daily scriptures she’d send me with her gentle faith and kindness. As I looked through my phone today, I realized I hadn’t heard from her in a month… and my heart sank. She never let on that she wasn’t well.
God bless you, Jan. You filled my life with beauty, grace, and friendship. I have an empty spot in my soul tonight — but I know Heaven gained a woman of true elegance and heart.
Rest in peace, my dear friend.
