Obituary of Leslie Haseman
Leslie Gorham Haseman, 64, longtime secretary and business associate of legendary concert promoter Barry Fey, passed away April 17, 2012 in Denver from a stroke. Known as the loyal confidant of Barry Fey for decades at the start of his fledgling Mile High concert company, Feyline, in 1967, Leslie became a fixture at Feyline's corporate offices, acting as Fey's "co-pilot" through many a tumultuous storm. Said Fey, "Many in the music business were so afraid of talking to Leslie that they tried to call me direct - hard to believe - since those that worked with her, knew down under, she was a loveable pussycat." Fey added, "If you knew Leslie, you would never forget her." The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin and countless other bands grew to respect her authority. "We lost our mom today," said Tony Funches, Mick Jagger's former bodyguard and one-time head of security for Feyline. "Leslie took care of us, period. What are we going to do without her?" said Dan Fong, Rock Historian/Photographer. Leslie is survived her children Terra (Thad) Haseman-Swazer, Justin Todd (Amy) Haseman and Tristan Burtt; brothers Kent (Pat) Gorham and Michael (Cheryl) Gorham and a large close-knit family in Denver. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 11am at Feldman's Mortuary, 1673 York Street, Denver, CO 80206 (303) 322-7764. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leslie E. Haseman Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 2500 E. 2nd Avenue, Suite 101, Denver, Colorado 80206.
