Harry was the longtime Chief Development Officer at the National Jewish Hospital and Research Center in Denver until his retirement. He gave me my first job in fundraising in 1971 and taught me everything anyone in my profession ever could, should or needed to know about philanthropy. Without him taking me under his wing I would never have had such a wonderful 42 year career in fundraising and nonprofit management. Always a New Yorker, he and his late wife Fran became Westerners and developed a love and appreciation for Colorado. Though we were not in frequent contact over the years I always felt his presence in my life and never made a major (and many minor) professional decisions without first thinking about what would Harry have to say about it. Harry became a very accomplished artist later in life and molded from clay what he molded in so many of my colleagues... works of art and humility which characterized his own long and rich life. May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may Harry's name forever be for a blessing! Stu Turgel Scottsdale, AZ
