A life lived to the fullest. What lovely and descriptive articles in the papers about the careers he had and variety of people Irv touched. He managed to put more life into his given years than many other people all added together. His talents and gifts were well used
We remember, with fondness, our years in Greeley together. It prompted us to get out the old CSCE annuals and reminiscence a while. They were good days.
Our thoughts and blessings to Irv's family as they face life without him, but with the courage to move forward as we know he would desire for them.

Irv, you're not gone and never will be, you will always be with everyone you met, all the lives you touched, all the great and important deeds you did. It was an honor and pleasure to have met with you over the years as you went to many places around Denver to do your show with your longtime and close friend Joe Williams. We all enjoyed your great sense of humor, your quick wit, compassion for people and sports, I can't imagine our lives had none of us had ever met you, but I know we're all better people to have been blessed to have shared even a few moments.
Great, there will never be another like him, one of a kind all describe you perfectly Irv, because you are a great person, and there will never be another like you, and you truly are one of a kind. Thanks for all the memories over the years, all the fun and laughter everyone had from interviews with Ralph Sampson (that was an all timer), to battling with Raider Mike, to doing the great spot for the company that made dog doors, which the name escapes me, but not the spot, when you called for that dog King, he began to bark, it was hilarious! Nobody did advertisements on radio like you did, NOBODY! I could go on and on with Irv-ism's, and it would fill a phone book, but I will end with this, I love and admire you greatly, Irv Brown, thank you for all the memories, all the fun, and all the wisdom you gave all of us over the years. Yours for Nebraska, your friend Dwight from Littleton.

I first met Irv while working at the Paul Derda Rec Center in Broomfield. Through our many chats, he gave me the opportunity to intern for him at his radio show with Joe. It was an honor to work with such a distinguished man with high character. I will miss his kindness, generosity, and his humorous and sarcastic motivational speeches he often gave me when I was down. I vividly remember the time he said, "Melissa look at me, get your (expletive) together!"
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Rest in Peace.

Irv will be greatly missed. He was one of my closest friends growing up. We periodically communicated with each other through our lifetime. We both made the North High school varsity basket ball team in our freshman year and we both made All City our JR. and Sr. years. It was a wonderful time growing up with each other. My sincere condolences. Fondly, Jack

I will always appreciate how supportive and encouraging Irv was to me when I first began my broadcasting career and had the opportunity to work with him and Joe Williams at KWHD-TV53 in Denver.
“Coach” Irv would take the time to introduce me to players, coaches and other Denver media members and that ultimately created several opportunities for my career.
I was always amazed at how he remembered everybody’s name, sport they played and high school they attended! He made everyone feel important and was a genuine, caring man. Thanks for everything Coach! Colorado broadcasting lost a pioneer.

I will always remember Mr. Brown as my baseball coach. I played shortstop for his American Legion team (the "Red Shields", sponsored by the Salvation Army) during the 1959 and 1960 seasons. At the start of the summer season, he gave me the opportunity to be the starting pitcher in a practice match against the then 1960 All-Parochial baseball "select" team. He had the confidence in allowing me to strike out 9 of 11 hitters (1 walk, and one hit batter). Of course, Mr. Brown had the baseball wisdom to send me back to short for the duration.
Rest In Peace Mr. Brown (Irv), I will always cherish this memory and your baseball knowledge and character that you instilled in young ball players.

I remember meeting Irv at the Paul Derda Rec center in Broomfield. I introduced myself because I knew who he was and I listened to him and Joe on the radio. Told him I was from Wyoming and I was a huge fan of the Cowboys, After that when I would see him he would always ask me "Dave how do you think the cowboys are going to do in football this year?" I would talk with him about the cowboys for a bit. I felt like I had known him forever. My thoughts with all of his family.

We all look back and think of people in our lives that inspired and mentored us. Irv asked me to play for the CU baseball team in 1973. I just wanted to play baseball for him, I didn't have any idea that he would become a mentor. I don't know how he had time for his coaching job because he was always helping me and my teammates to succeed not only on the field but in our early college lives. Irv opened up so many opportunities for us so that we could pay our way though school. Irv got all of us multiple jobs including cleaning the stadiums, working in the dorms and teaching us all to referee basketball games.
On the field he was an incredible motivator. He was always positive and respectful. As important, Irv was a joy to play for. He taught me how to compete. He made all of us earn our way. I'm sure all of the thousands of players that played for him at all levels remember how funny he could be too. He had that great look on his face when he was teasing us. Who could forget all of his " be competitive" cliches? One of my greatest memories of him was when we were on our baseball roadtrips. We would get off the plane, go to the rent a car company to get our cars. Before we picked up the cars we would have a meeting. He would hand out $20 in spending money and say, " have fun but, Don't embarrass the University!" I remember vividly that serious look on his face pointing at us as with his cigar and having that look like he was saying a short prayer that we would behave.
Over the years I would hear from Irv. Early in my real estate career he would plug me on his radio show. I'd get calls from so many friends that listened to his show that told me he mentioned my name. Like everyone I'm very sad that he has passed. Hearing his voice always brought back great memories. He was a great man. I'll miss you Coach.

Irv will live on forever. In the players he coached, particularly those who spent summers in the Irv Brown Baseball Clinic, and the basketball officials he mentored and inspired including David Hall who followed in Irv’s footsteps right into the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships, and the world class broadcasters he inspired namely Drew Goodman and David Logan. In short, we all looked up to Irv as a guiding light-a light that lives on in all of us.

We have fond memories of times with Irv starting at Colorado State College when George played baseball with Irv. Irv and George played in the College World Series in Omaha. A funny story is when Pete Butler noticed the three girlfriends (Pat, Liz, and Norma McMillan) in the stands and told the players that the girls knew the baseball signs better than they did. George and Irv kept in touch throughout their careers. His friendship will be greatly missed.
