Obituary of Patricia Anne Plank
Patricia Anne (Schwan) Plank passed from this world into heaven on Friday, November 19th, 2021. In the arms of her Lord and Savior, she is free from her long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Ashland, Ohio, on June 10th, 1948, she was the second daughter of Frederick E. Schwan and Evelyn (Schwan) Rogers. A graduate of Ashland High School in 1966, Patricia went on to be a top student in the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She was very proud to have a long career as a registered nurse, first at Elyria Memorial Hospital and then, following a move to Colorado Springs, Colorado, at Penrose Memorial Hospital, later Cleveland Clinic in Wooster, Ohio, and the oncology department and employee health at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Her kindness showed through everything she did, with her amazing strength and determination, she will remain an inspiration to those she has left behind.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Stacie, and two grandchildren of Aurora, Colorado. She is also survived by her sisters Teresa (Jerry) Kowalski of Elyria, Barbara (Jim) Chandler, and sister-in-law Karin (Fred) Schwan, both of Ashland, Ohio, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frederick W. Schwan and her brother-in-law, Jerry Kowalski.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 420 N Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday, December 4th, at 1pm. A second service will be held at Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home in Ashland, Ohio, on Saturday, December 11th, with visitation from 10am to 11am with services at 11am. Patricia will be laid to rest beside her parents at Ashland Memorial Park.
