Obituary of Raul Martinez

Raul Martinez Ramírez was the son of Eusebio Martínez and Hortencia Ramírez. Raul was born
on November 30, 1945, in San Diego de Alcala, Mexico, a beautiful little town south of the
capital of Chihuahua, which has many healing hot springs.
Raul had eight siblings: Delia, Yolanda (+), Irma, Lidia, Armando (+), Daniel, Ileana, and Sergio.
As a young boy, Raul moved to Juarez, Mexico, where he lived his childhood and part of his
youth. There, he did his military service.
Raul got married for the first time in Juárez, Mexico, where his first three children were born:
Raul, Blanca Mireya, and Armida. They later moved to Lamar, Colorado, where they had two
more children: Eduardo and Ivonne Yolanda. During this time in his life, he enjoyed farming and
learning about agriculture.
Years later, Raul returned to live in El Paso, Texas. There he met his current wife María Antonia
Garcia Espinoza and there they married on November 1, 1975. They had 3 children: René
Eduardo (wife-Antionette), Edgar Raul (wife-Jacqueline) and Evelyn (husband-Pedro).
In September of 1996 he moved his family and settle in Denver, Co, where they have lived to
date.
Raul and Antonia have 8 grandchildren: Rene, Isaiah, Jazmin, Emmaleigh, Jaden, Emiliano,
Ariana, and Damian.
One of Raul's greatest accomplishments was becoming a U.S. citizen, which he accomplished in
2000. Raul had many passions including music, cars, mechanical work, playing guitar, and a
great love of exercise. He had a great love for boxing, running, and lifting weights, which he did
even during his cancer treatments. He had a great love for rock and roll music and his passion
for the guitar arose from a young age, when he played the guitar alongside his friends during
bonfires when he was young in Juárez, Mexico.
When Raul retired in 2003, he dedicated his time to being a wonderful grandfather. Creating an
unbreakable bond with his grandchildren while teaching them about his greatest passions that
continue to this day. His grandchildren cherish many memories from this time.
Raul was diagnosed with cancer in early 2022, he bravely faced the battle. His faith in God
helped him get through this difficult time. He fought hard alongside his devoted wife and
children. His wife Antonia never left his side during difficult times, many hospitalizations,
chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. She always remained attentive until the end; her love
truly fueled his fight and remains an inspiration to the family.
Raul passed away on February 15, 2024, after a brave battle against cancer. He was 78 years
old. Raul is survived by his wife, 7 children, 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

His family remembers him with love. His children Rene, Edgar and Evelyn are grateful for his
teachings, for his love and for his faith in God. For his passion in all the things he did: his
dedication to exercise, for his physical and mental strength in everything he undertook and for
not giving up in the face of challenges. For his great love for his grandchildren, his children, and
his wife.
His wife Antonia is grateful for her three children and her grandchildren, for whom she had
great love for. Because of the immense faith he had in God, and she has the conviction that
Raul is living with him. I express emphatically: I love you, Raul.
The Martinez Garcia family is grateful for the love and support that everyone has shown in his
passing.
Thank you so much.
