Freddie “Fred” Thomas Segundo passed away peacefully at his home in Denver, Colorado, on October 5, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Fred was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 6, 1960, to parents Alice Silva & Thomas Segundo. He was the eldest of 6 siblings: Dorina, Anthony, Andrew, Becky, and Junior.
He married Belia Aurora Segundo (Martinez) on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1987. They welcomed their son, Freddie, on April 29, 1979, and daughter, Crystal, on December 8, 1982.
Fred supported his family in a multitude of ways and worked many years as a warehouse worker handling shipping and receiving. As he would say, “LET’S DO IT.” He enjoyed watching his favorite TV show “Gun Smoke” after taking his daily walk around the neighborhood, and loved to watch sports—wrestling, college football, and boxing matches—but especially his Raiders, and he never missed a game. He also enjoyed playing sports; in his younger years he would play football and basketball. He liked to go to the bar to hang out with friends and play pool, where he joined a pool league and won an award for an 8-ball break.
Fred is survived by many family members and loved ones, including his wife, Belia Segundo; his son, Freddie Segundo and his wife, Kendell Segundo; his daughter, Crystal Perez and her husband, Ben Perez; his grandchildren, Areanna Segundo, Kaylee Segundo, Jasmine Perez and her husband Daniel Rodriguez, Leia Perez, and Sofia Perez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice, and many other close friends, family, and pets.
Fred was a caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He touched many lives and will leave an impact that will be deeply felt. He will be greatly missed.
